The Auburn Doubledays First Signing in 2023 is Local Pitcher Cooper Polcovich.
The Auburn Doubledays have their first player signed to play right in his own backyard for the upcoming 2023 season. Cooper Polcovich is a 6’ 4” left-handed pitcher currently attending Auburn High School and is set to graduate in the spring of 2023. Polcovich is committed to Potomac State, a Junior College in West Virginia. He brings with him a unique arsenal of pitches, with his fastball ranging in the mid ’80s, complemented by a curveball and a knuckleball. Polcovich’s crafty pitch selection will make him a tough pitcher to face for visiting team batters as his focus is on movement and control of the strike zone.
“I was born and raised here. I’m excited to play in front of my hometown fans.”
Polcovich's love for his hometown will easily make him a fan favorite when pitching at home in Falcon Park. While he is a young kid, the youthful spirit is exactly what Auburn will be looking for in their chase for their first PGCBL title.
