AUBURN DOULBEDAYS WELCOME THREE NEW PLAYERS FROM DIVISION ONE WOFFORD



The Auburn Doubledays are excited to announce the addition of three players to the team this year from Wofford College. The Wofford Terriers are a division one program located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Zac Cowan, Cooper Erickson, and Zane Roos will be calling Auburn home for June, July, and August.


Zac Cowan (left) is a 5-11, 175-pound shortstop and right-handed pitcher from Blythewood, South Carolina. A starting varsity player for four years, Cowan helped Blythewood High School win a region championship in 2021 as a junior. With a .346 average and .495 OBP plus 20 stolen bases, he earned Region Player of Year, a gold glove award, All-Region, and All-State selections.


Cooper Erikson (not pictured) is a 6-4, 210-pound shortstop from Lincoln, Nebraska. On the diamond, Erikson totaled five home runs with a .404 batting average en route to All-City and All-Conference honors in 2021. He excelled on the gridiron as a wide receiver for the Lincoln East football team, setting school records for receiving yards, catches, and touchdowns while picking up All-State Academic, All-City, and All-Conference nods. Erikson also played JV basketball during the 2018-19 season as a three-sport athlete.


Zeb Roos (right) is a 5-4, 195-pound outfielder from St. Louis, Missouri. Zeb played in 42 games with 37 starts. He made 25 starts in left field and 12 starts in right field. On the season batted .264 with 29 hits, 20 runs scored, and 19 RBIs. Zeb led the team with 13 hits by pitch, which ranked fifth in the SoCon. He also had six sacrifice flies which led the league. Before Zeb committed to playing in Wofford in 2021, he played at Heartland Community College. He had a .400 batting average in the shortened season with 10 RBIs and three home runs. Zeb was Named MVP of the Palm Springs Collegiate League in the summer of 2020.
