The Auburn Doubledays are pleased to announce that they have signed sophomore outfielder Christian Perez from Division 1 powerhouse Binghamton University.
Christian appeared in 14 games last year with three starts for the Bearcats. Perez picked up his first collegiate hit, a double against Stony Brook on May 22. He also had an impressive .308 on-base percentage for Binghamton. He finished the season with four runs. The Doubledays look forward to Christians' hard work and competitiveness while on the field this upcoming summer at Falcon Park. Christians' father, Timo, played eight years in MLB for the New York Mets and the Detroit Tigers before becoming a World Series Champion with the Chicago White Sox in 2005. The Doubledays home opener is scheduled for Friday, June 4, with post-game fireworks.
