The Auburn Doubledays are excited to share the addition of two Ithaca College Bombers, Colin Leyner (P) and Riley Brawdy (IF).
Colin Leyner wrapped up his freshman season at Ithaca, going 7-1 (W-L) and sporting a 3.68 ERA. He started 9 games last season with 55 strikeouts in 63.2 innings pitched. The Edison, New Jersey native graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2021 as a Senior All-Star and, in 2020, a GMC Champion. As of April 2023, Leyner has started 7 games, has a win-loss record of 2-3, has an ERA of 3.21, and has struck out 38 batters.
After a solid freshman campaign in 2022, Riley Brawdy is well on his way to an even better 2023. In 44 games played, Brawdy started in 41, sporting a .265 batting average with 10 doubles, 4 triples, and 2 long balls. Brawdy is off to a hot start this year, already matching his walk totals from last year, and is only a few RBIs shy of matching his '22 in just about half the time. As of April 2023, Brawdy is 25 games in, batting .296 with 29 hits. He has 4 home runs and has driven 20 run-ins with 7 doubles and 3 triples.
They also won't be stepping on too-unfamiliar territory as Brawdy and Leyner have gotten a chance to play at Falcon Park with the Bombers.
